Aryna Sabalenka finished the year with an notable 23-3 Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Consistency

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Numbers

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.

She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".

Other WTA Award Honorees

  • Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking a extended hiatus after the birth of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport earlier this season.
  • Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko received the award after beginning the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and soaring to world number 18.
  • Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after securing their second career Grand Slam title together.
  • Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after reaching five championship matches.

Last week, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third time.
