The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites began covering regarding Sony's platform for the first time. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to draw people in with strong games on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
A pair of titles that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Come mid-January, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Intriguing Niche Additions
However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service in the first place. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — which makes them ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
